String table entries of default language are used when and after upgrading

Hi,

We have created a setup in IS2008 Pro. A new installation works fine, but a problem happens when upgrading a previous installation which was created in IS DevStudio 9.

The problem is that a default language is displayed only when string table entries are used.

Default language of our setup is English and it also supports Japanese, that is, we have two string table enties in our project.

When a new installation is done on Japanese OS, it works fine. Japanese is displayed in all dialogs. Of course, on English OS, English is displayed properly.

But when we upgrade a previous version of the installation on Japanese OS, the InstallShield dialogs such as "Welcome" dialog and "Complete InstallShiled Wizard" dialog are displayed in Japanese, however, "Validating install", "Removing applications" and so on are displayed in English when a progress bar is shown by the setup (Note that the progress bar is automatically shown by the setup. We do not create such an operation in sripts).

And a shortcut in [Start] menu is also created in English on Japanese OS. (Therefore, two start menu shortcuts (one is in Japanese, the other in English) are available after upgrading.

Moreover, when we select a "Change" option at unistallation, the strings on the Change dialog are Japanese, but the component name in the List view and its explanation are English.

It seems that a setup language (UI language?) is Japanese, but string table entries used (Data language?) are English.

In English OS, we have no problem.

We tried to create a previous installation with IS 2008 Pro and upgrade from the new one created with IS 2008 Pro. But same problem happened. (That would result a previout installation created with IS DevStudio 9 did not affect to this problem.)

Is there any workaround for this? Any advise would be appreciated.

Thank you in advance.
