Hello all. I'm in the process of prototyping having our Win32 app run as a side-by-side assembly. My question is : I have created a manifest file defining all the dll's and their Com interfaces. However, do I have to do anything with other dependencies which are currently handled in my installer via merge modules (msxml,etc..) , or can they remain the same (installed via the merge modules)?
I have not experienced problems with this those. I have experienced problems with merge modules that install side-by-side assemblies though. Most notably The MSVCxx line... 4 days on the phone with Microsoft couldn't sort it out either. So, best of luck.
