Shortcuts are removed when uninstalling a Patch

Hi,

I am using Install shield 12. I want to install a main setup and 3 patches. The application and patch installations are completed successfully. My issue is when I try to uninstall a patch ALONE(from the control panel), all the application related shortcuts are also removed. Why is this happening? How can I overcome this?
