I have a service component that installs a service as expected, but for some reason is installing a completely unrelated executable from another component of my project. I have narrowed it down to the service component; when I remove the service component from the feature the rogue .exe does not get installed. The service component in no way, shape, or form makes any reference to the executable, nor is the service dependent of the executable. I completely deleted the service component and re-created it from scratch and I get the same results. Other features that install services in my project don't have this problem. What could be happening?
