Runonce Registry
Hi everybody.. Wishes for the new year..
I have a read the below mentioned link regarding the Runonce registry and its usage. This key is used by driver software for restart and continue installation process.
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa906348.aspx
But in the site mentioned below tells that when 32 bit software is installed in the x64 Windows 2003 server OS, then the application may not function properly.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/925527/en-us#top
But there is no much information on what kind of problem will arise.
I am creating a Basic msi project, the coding part is done in VBscript and VC++. my product support X64 version windows 2003server OS.
"And i do not use Runonce registy. "
1. I just need to ask will there be any issues in my installer??
I other words, i want to know Will install shield itself create any subkey
under Runonce regsitry??
2. If IS will create subekys under Runonce registry, then in what scenario .
because I tried all kind of installation (like new, modify, uninstall and
upgrade) no subkey is created in Runonce registry.
Please post if you have any information regarding this..
Thanks in advance.

I think the ForceReboot action uses the RunOnce key to restart and continue an installation, but I'm not aware of any other actions that do.
