Request: info on programming language
I really like the JavaEdition of IS 11.5. Clean and standard programming model. Are there any plans to support dotnet and C# in future products? Since we are a dotnet company, informing my manager that I was now programming in Java created quite a reaction...
Also, what is the programming language of IS 12. What is MSI?
Thanks

With InstallShield MultiPlatform, Java is the common language for the supported platforms, where C# isn't supported on all those different target platforms... InstallAnywhere has a similar Java API for the same reason.
With InstallShield 12, there's a product-specific InstallScript language, and for Windows Installer (MSI) installers you describe an installation by populating tables in an MSI database; you can extend an MSI installer with custom actions that run executables, call DLL functions, run InstallScript (or other script) code, and so on. The InstallShield 12 page is a good place to start.
