QuickPatch failing to updated files and create new regkey?

I am using IS2009 to create a QuickPatch project. My patch is simple, it simply needs to replace three non-versioned files, and create a new registry key. Building the patch yields no errors. However, once installed, the regkey is created but the updated files do not get installed. If I remove the registry key creation from the patch and re-build, the files are properly updated. Is this some sort of limitation for QuickPatches? It seems unreasonable that a patch can't perform such a simple task...:confused:

Which one is the KEY file in your component? If you are adding a new registry entry add it as component.

Also, if you want to update a nonversioned file, you can set a version override by right clickingon the file in component view and selecting the properties.
