QuickPatch display name?
When installing a quick patch the displayname (add/remove programs) is set to the original product name.
The original script changed the displayname to include more than just the product name and thus installing the quick patch will remove that extra information.
I want the quick patch to set the correct displayname and according to the documentation the DirectEditor->PatchMetadata->DisplayName should be the name shown in add/remove programs.
However, the display name will still be set to the original product name no matter what I put in that PatchMetadata key. Why?
I know that InstallShield put the displayname key in "HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\InstallShield_{GUID}" but is GUID randomized? I could not find that in the original script.
If the GUID is not randomized I could have the QuickPatch set the DisplayName key but still...I don't think that is the way to do it.
Any ideas how to set the displayname from a quick patch?
