I am doing a patch from the Patch Design view in InstallShield 2009. The previous setup is entirely compressed in the setup.exe, with the language french and English. When I build the patch, I have the error -6415. Cannot generate a primary transform.
I have also many warning like this: Patch API could not create a small patch; using whole upgraded file. Including entire file: etc.
When I do the patch with the "previous setup" being the uncompressed setup recompiled, I have no error, but the patch cannot be installed on the previous setup.
Anyone have any idea where comes from the error -6415? Is it because the 1033.mst and 1036.mst files are not extracted from setup.exe by Installshield?
Are you trying to create transforms? Are you expecting any Differential patch? If you use patch design panel, the preivious setups should be uncompressed and even latest setup also should be uncompressed setup.
