Multiple Instance Installation
Hi all,
I have an MSI Web Setup to deploy a web application & its database. This website can do an upgrade (upgrading existing web & database).
My question is, when doing upgrade, can we give option to user if they want to upgrade existing instance(s) or create a new instance (creating new entry on Add/Remove Program and also create new database)?
So, for example, if I already have v1.0 installed in my machine, I can either:
- Upgrade the v1.0 to v2.0 (replace old files etc), or
- Install v2.0 separately, so it will coexist with v1.0
Does MSI/Installshield support this?
This is very important...
Appreciate any idea... Thanks.
