Modifiy Web.config file at run time
We are going to buy Installshield 2009 Professional. Now We are doing a research before buying it.
We are using a evaluation version of Installshield 2009 Professional. I need to update Web.config file according to the selected Database server , user and password at Run time. So please advice me how to do this.

InstallShield has an XML File Changes view that lets you modify .config files and other XML files at run time.
Which project type do you think you'll be using?
If you select Basic MSI or InstallScript MSI, you can set Windows Installer properties for data that end users enter in dialogs, or other configuration information that is determined during the installation, in your product’s XML files. Here are some help topics that may help you get started with that:
For an InstallScript project, you can use text substitution. Here are some related help topics:
Those help topics are also in the InstallShield Help Library that is installed with InstallShield. You can press F1 from within any view to see help that applies to that view.

Hi Friend,
I want to update the web.config file during run time. I want to set the connection string in web.config as per user selection in sqllogin window during run time. I want to generate connectionstring for SQL Authentication as well as for Window authentication. Can you pls guide for this?

Yes. That URL stopped working after the company name was changed from Acresso to Flexera. The URL that works now is http://helpnet.flexerasoftware.com. http://helpnet.installshield.com points to the same site.
