Make an SMALL UPGRADE

Hello,

I have a problem with my upgrade.

I create a Basic MSI.

In "Installation Information" -> "General Information" -> "Product Properties"
I have :
Version : 2.00
Product Code : {A54BF968-90A2-4441-A8CD-CF7B183DF227}
Upgrade code : {EEB48298-0375-4AFC-9E5C-FED64C5501DF}

In option "Media" -> "Releases", I modify :
In tab "Build"
Compression : Compressed
In tab "Setup.exe"
"Setup Luncher" : no

When I install my MSI. I have no problem.

After, I modify :
Version : 2.00 in "Installation Information" -> "General Information" -> "Product Properties"
And I modify my principal executable which is in my components

I build my version...

I execute my new MSI where I installed version 2.00

and i have an message "Another version of this product is already installed. Installation of this version cannot continue. To configure or remove the existing version of this product, use Add/Remove Programs on the Control Panel."
Who have a solution please ?

Just a clarification, When in
In option "Media" -> "Releases", I modify, In tab "Setup.exe" I put
"Setup Luncher" : Yes (non MSI engine included)
THE UPDATING WORKS....but i haven't my "MyProject.MSI" but a Setupe.exe

Thanks for you answer.

The help topic Updating Applications > Creating Minor Upgrades explains why setup.exe is used (the reason is the same for small updates and minor upgrades) and how to deploy such an upgrade without setup.exe.

Ok, now is good, I provide customers two files Setup.exe and the MSI file.

Thanks yours answer.
