Major Upgrade
Hi:
I am trying to get a major upgrade to function the way a minor upgrade does. In the minor upgrade the user is presented with the "This setup will perform an upgrade of" message. Furthermore they are also suppressed from selecting where to install the product as this may confuse the installation as a new one rather than overwritting the existing product.
Currently my major upgrade uninstall the old version and install the new install as if it were a new one... However the UPGRADECODE I set for it is available.
Is there a way to make the installer ignore the select where to install and set the INSTALLDIR property to the location of the old install?
Thanks,
Yama

Some combination of this newsletter tip (PDF) to fill in INSTALLDIR, and this one (another PDF), to inform the user about a major upgrade, might be of use...
