Launching an application installed with installer

Hi,

I am facing a problem in launching the new version of application installed with the patch installation.
I have created a custom action which will launch the exe at the end of installation. The custom action is scheduled as Deferred execution in system context.

But when I invoke the exe it is invoking the previous version instead of new version of exe installed with the installer. Can some one help me out on this?

The CA is scheduled after PublishProducts so that the copying of files can be done and I can launch the new executable.

I also tried making the CA as commit execution in system context. But no use even it is launching the older version.

Please help me on how to resolve the issue

What is done actually in this patch?

It replaces the older version of exe to newer version. I am supposed to launch the newer version copied to the system after the installation.
