Installer for x86, AMD64 and IA64 platform

HI, I'm using IS 2008 for installer on x86, AMD64 and IA64 platforms. I'm using the same ism file to build installer based on release flag. Each component is repeated to cater 3 different platforms and same with Custom Actions.

Is there any better way to create a installer for X86, AMd64 and IA64 platforms.

They recommend to keep different installers for amd64, x86 and ia64 architectures. Seems painful, but I am using the same method.
