How to suppress reboot message
I have a basic MSI installer with IS2011. When upgrading my product from one version to the next via a Major Upgrade on Windows Server 2008, I get the following message:
"setup must update files or services that cannot be updated while system is running. If you choose to continue, a reboot will be required to complete the setup". This is MSI Error 1610.
This message is incorrect. There are no files that cannot be updated, and a reboot is not required. I have no idea which files it is detecting, or why.
I want to suppress this dialog box entirely.
I tried MSIRESTARTMANAGERCONTROL set to both Disable and DisableShutdown, and neither seem to work.
What am I doing wrong?
