How to create a patch ?!

Hi,

I would like to create a patch, i prefer to create a patch than do an full ugrade operation !

for to do this, i have a basic msi project with some file and i build it and it's work.
on the release wizard, i have created a new release , i've add some file in my project, and build the new release.

In the patch design view, i add a new patch configuration.
for the lastest1 product : i've select the first location of the build
for the previsous product : i've choice the new release localtion.

I build the patch, but i have an error :
there was an error creating the patch package, writing content of log files in patch creating log....

and on this log file, i have this message :

ERROR: Cannot generate a primary transform.

Someone can tell me, if my procedure is CORRECT for to do a patch !?

the lastest1 product : it's the place for the latest build I think.
previsous product : one msi older version
