Hotfix: Visual Studio crashes when editing Visual C++ header file
Symptoms:
Visual Studio crashes when editing Visual C++ header file
Steps to Reproduce:
-Create a new project by choosing File - New - Project.
- Select C++ - General - Empty Project. Give it a name
- In Solution Explorer, right click the project and select Add - Class. Give the class a name.
- In Solution Explorer, right click the solution and select Add - New Project. Select an Installshield LE project and give it a name.
- Build the solution. A linker error, "entry point must be defined." is encountered.
- Now go back to the C++ project and try to edit the C++ header file.
-During the process of entering the code Visual Studio crashes.
Hot Fix:
To apply the hot fix, follow the steps below:
1. Close Visual Studio.
2. Download the IOA-000060770.zip attached to this thread, and uncompress the files to a temporary location.
3. Locate the folder:\System. (By default, this directory is “C:\Program Files (x86) \InstallShield\2011LE\System")
4. Make a backup copy of file ISUIServices.dll and ISUIServices_libFNP.dll.
5. Copy the new files ISUIServices.dll and ISUIServices_libFNP.dll to\System.
6. Restart Visual Studio.
