I want to be able to create a more detailed installation log file, maybe even in html format. Can someone please point me to the right direction? I want to be able to pinpoint exactly where my installation is failing.
I don't think there's anything built in for either project type (MSI or InstallScript); however, in the case of MSI you can use the MSI Log Analyzer to generate an annotated log file on your development system...
For Install Shield script, I created a set of functions that will write anything you want to a log file. I have posted the source code in an earlier thread. Here is the link.
