Downloading One-Click Install Installations using Firefox
Does One-Click Install Installations (from IS 2011) works with Firefox 5.0?
I have came across threads dated to IS 2009 or older saying it doesn't work and rumors claiming that there are ways to make it work. Did they fix it for IS 2011? Is there any official documentation for this?
No changes have been made to one click installs in MSI or InstallScript projects for Firefox or IE support. In general, we recommend building a compressed single EXE release instead of one click releases as these do not provide any functional advantage over single EXE releases and single EXE releases are simpler to work with.
Currently we have a desktop application that has been using the One-Click Install from Installshield 2009. It works fine in Internet Explorer when you click the Install and use the "top bar" to start the download. However in Firefox, nothing happens after you click the Install button. My question is whether the One-Click Install from InstallShield 2011 will solve this Firefox problem or not.
