Determining what version of IS was used to create a project

I've inherited an old installsheild project. I'd like to know what version of install shield was used to create it, but from looking at the IPR file, it can't figure it out.

Is there a way to know what version was used to create a project?

Hmmm, IPR, that's an old InstallShield Professional ( Pure InstallScript ) project. Probably somewhere between InstallShield 5 and InstallShield 7 or 8. At some point the IPR format was converted to an XML/ISM similar to Basic MSI projects.

If you want you can zip up and email it to me and I'll see if I can figure it out.

Perhaps see also [thread=179148]this stab in the dark[/thread].

P.S. For what it's worth, if you open the old project with InstallShield, it will generally figure out what needs to be converted and print warnings if necessary. The help topics under Getting Started > Upgrading from Earlier InstallShield Versions should also help.
