Defered Custom Action VBScript

While doing an upgrade I want to delete a folder from the previous release. I was trying to do this using a defered custom action with VBScript. I was using the deletefolders(dirname) to delete the folder. Here is my problem. When I run the script inside the install it ends with an error message saying not authorized. I can take the same script out and run it from my desktop and it works fine.

Is there something special I need to know about using this inside of a custom action?

Thanks
