CustomActions with negative numbers

I have seen some MSI packages that have CustomActions listed in the ExecuteInstallSequence with negative numbers. Can anyone explain the purpose, benefit, reason, ect..... for this?

Thanks, that page never come up in my searches. Since it is a MS site I am surprised that it wasn't more readily listed through Google.

Perhaps, because it's InstallExecuteSequence, not ExecuteInstallSequence.;)
