Custom sign tool
Hi,
Will the "custom sign tool" available from InstallShield 2023 R2 update the MsiPackageCertificate and MsiDigitalCertificate MSI tables on signing?
We are currently using InstallShield 2021 and have been signing the MSI using the integrated signing option. However, due to new certificate requirements, we've switched to using AzureSignTool for signing the MSI as a post-build step. The problem is that the original package contains certificate information in the MsiPackageCertificate table, and when applying the update (MSP) - after removing signing information in installshield, we encounter the following error (on the second patch after removing signing information):
"DEBUG: Error 2253: Database: Transform: Cannot delete table that doesn't exist. Table: MsiPackageCertificate."
My question is, would upgrading to InstallShield 2023 R2 and using the "custom sign tool" during the update creation resolve this issue? If not, we will have to look into other options.
