Component renames file during build

Hi.
I have encountered a strange thing. I have a component that installs a single file, say file2012.chm. The file is not set as key file. The source file is then replaced by a file called file2013.chm but the component in the ism is not updated to the new file name. The installation builds without any errors or warnings. When I run the installation the file is installed as file2012.chm. It seems to me that the component renames the source file to the old name. Is this a known bug? Has anyone encountered this before?

Hi ,

if you have changed the file then the component name will not be changed automatically you have to delete the component and then add an component with the name required. first check if the file you have placed is the file that you got in the setup.

The component name is irrelevant although for sanity I'd rename it to the same name as the file it installs.

How are you changing the source file? You can't just drop it into the folder where the installer picks it up from, you have to go into the component, delete off the old file and add in the new one.
