I have a InstallScript MSI project that upon a Major Upgrade, a component that has a condition tied to it, Not TAIE (looks for exe in folder, if present, does not install component) does not get re-installed on a Major Upgrade. I have the major upgrade set to completely uninstall the old setup, which it does, but when it re-installs, it does not install one of my components. Any idea what the problem might be?
I have found a solution to my problem. I made the compnent Transitive, by changing the the component's Reevaluate Condition property to Yes, and then changed the condition from Not TAIE to Not TAIE OR Not REMOVE and that has resolved the problem, the component now gets reinstalled on reinstallation
