C Runtime 6.0 Merge Modules cause crash

I have upgraded from DevStudio9 to IS2008. Since the upgrade, I cannot build a release that contains either the C Runtime 6.0 or the C++ Runtime 6.0 Merge Modules attached to it. During the build, IS2008 crashes (gives the typical 'Installshiled 2008 needs to close' message) and when viewing the technical details of the crash it gives the following:

Going back to the backed up DevStudio9 install, it still works fine. I need both of these MM for my install... has anyone seen this issue or has a workaround?

Has anyone else had any success using either of these two merge modules with IS2008?
