Building process exit without error
Hi,
We have an urgent and weired problem in our daily builing.
The building has been working for long time until yesterday, it failed for DVD media build only (CD media still works), and the building log shows that the failed build exits (without error) after ServiceInstall table. Following are the failed and succeeded DVD build log fragments.
Failed build:
=========
1/15/2009 4:07:43 PM DATA (3080) PublishComponent table successfully built
1/15/2009 4:07:43 PM DATA (3080) RegLocator table successfully built

1/15/2009 4:07:43 PM DATA (3080) Default\DVD - 0 error(s), 2 warning(s)
Successful build:

1/14/2009 5:49:58 PM DATA (3080) _Validation table successfully built
1/14/2009 5:49:58 PM DATA (3080) Building COM .NET Interop information for components
…
The failed build resulted in the image without setup.exe, .cab files etc.
We don't have any entry in the ServiceInstall table in the project (.ism file).
Can anybody give some hints how should we look at the issue? It's weired and we never ran into such issue before. I am suspecting if ShortCut table has any entry that may not work, but IS should report that error, shouldn't it? And why CD version build works?
Your quick reply/suggestions are really appreciated.
Thanks,
Peter

That problem actually is from our CM building which used IS2008 standalone version.
And the new finding is that if we include both CD and DVD build in the building process, the later one will fail, but the first one will succeed; but if we only do one of them in the building process, it will succeed. We also tried IDE build, it always succeeds since we only can build one type at a time.
Can there be any hints based on all the info provided?
Thanks,
Peter
