Best practice for Network update (notification/check)
Q1. Using an administrative installation (/a) I copy the setup-files to a network folder.
On client side I would like to check the network folder if a new setup.exe or update.exe (Quickpatch) is present. I can change the versions in IS and later check the setup.exe for its file version - but for the update.exe, I found no way to change the file version (bug?).
Q2. Is this a good way to check for update on a local network? I don't want to use FLEXnet.
Q3. Is it possible to create a shortcut that calls the network setup.exe? Or a VBScript that calls either Setup.exe or Update.exe?
