Basic MSI: custom INSTALLDIR reset during advertised Full UI mode
Hi,
-Basic MSI with a Prerequisite that needs elevated privileges
-'Advertise if Prerequisites Are Elevated' set to 'Advertise Full UI'
Problem:
The custom value of INSTALLDIR will be reset to the default value if the Setup UI runs elevated (due to the installation of the Prerequisite).

How are you setting this custom INSTALLDIR? It sounds like the advertisement is not receiving this, and thus locks in the default. As a potential workaround, does disabling advertisement prevent this behavior?

INSTALLDIR will be set during UI mode and the default 'DestinationFolder' dialog.

'Advertise if Prerequisites Are Elevated' set to 'No' works.

Okay, I think I understand the issue now. I've filed #IOC-000079460 to track this.

We looked into this, and it appears it may be due to INSTALLDIR (and any other relevant directories) not being in SecureCustomProperties. Let me know if adding it fixes the behavior for you too.
