Basic MSI Project Query...Plz Help
Hey all,
I'm using a demo version of the Installshield 2009 professional.
My requirement was something like this....
The application folder consists of an xml file which needs to be updated at the run time. The value with which the xml file needs to be updated is got from the end user through a dialog.
To put this in simple words
Client runs the installation file in his machine, then on dialog box pops up which has an edit field.
Client enters a value and this value should be populated in the xml file which will be present in the installed directory of the client machine.
Can i achieve this in Basic MSI type of projects ???
Can any one let me know whether this problem has a solution ???
...if yes can u please provide a brief solution
thanks in advance
