Automating install from an XML file

Hi,

I need to implement an installer that can work in silent mode or interactive mode. When in silent mode I would like for it to read the input (user selections, features, directories, etc.) from an XML file. Is there any sample out there?

Also, can I generate installers with InstallShield MultiPlatform 11.5 Premier without them requiring the JRE?

Please advise.
