After Build, the main executable has not been updated
I just upgraded to VS2012 and IS2012 Spring Express. When I make changes and commit them in the program, then build the solution, I have watched the system go through, rename the old DISK5 sub to .bak and rebuild the install file structure. For some reason that I cannot seem to figure out, the primary program file, let's call it newsolution.exe is not updated. The date and time stamp are the same as the old file. All the sub's etc. have the new date and time, but the .exe is still the old??? When I run it (just in the off chance that it is a time stamp problem) it is still the old file??
Am I smoking the wrong thing?? 😄 What is causing this behavior? Anyone else have this happen? 😞
Addendum - the Bin\Debug\newsolution.exe file DOES get updated.
Didn't find any answers anywhere, but on a whim I just killed the install project and re-created it and it fixed the problem. For what ever reason, no matter what I tried, the main executable would NOT update in the install files under InstallShield. Once re-created all is well.:):)
