hello, i am building an installer and to my discomfort its size is 740MB .I want to decrease the size .can i write some script or some other way to decrease the size of the installer. I choose optimise installer by platform option but still its size is 740MB. Can anyone suggest some way out of it. The complete installation of my product takes about 45 to 50 minutes. Is there any workaround for reducing the time of deployment and reducing the size of the installer.
If your IA version is still 5.5, then you REALLY need to give it a try in a newer version. Ususally, newer versions might have improvements regarding speed and compressions of the installers.
Besides the installer takes a few MB. So if your installer is 740 MB in size, then you have added some big files (or a huge lot of small ones) to be installed... if you need these files to be installed then you can't shrink it!
