search & replace variable contents

Hi,
How do I search & replace chars within a variable?
For example, I have a variable X, containing the word "hello:world", and I want preceed all colons (:) with backslash (\).

Hi,

There are some available plugins and one is ModifyString that should do what you expect. I do not know if it is available by default otherwise it should be down-loadable from flexera web site ...
