question marks(??) are displayed instead of the actual localized text(chinese)

After running the exe for the installation package created, when prompted for the location where the application needs to be installed if the destination folder name is in a double byte character like chinese, japenese etc some question marks(??) are displayed instead of the actual localized folder name
(Chose Install Panel has been used for this functionality).

M trying this out in windows os for English local (EN_US)

Please make sure you have code page installed on the target machine to support these characters.

Hey Macintosh,

I really appreciate you for providing insights on the issue i m facing. It will be great if you could help me further understanding the exact cause so that i can come up with a feasible solution for this. Please find my doubts below

Does this mean that if i m using Windows 7 on my machine, i will have to change my locale / region from control panel to chinese and then view it always if i want to view the localized chinese text. Or is there another way to install the particular db code pages ? Is there any other configuration that needs to be done @ Install Anywhere software in order for this to work as expected ??

When you install the code page on the target system, you need not change any other system settings. Since, the code page is installed, the installer will run the installer will display Chinese properly.

While installing the code page, the operating system will support all the locales.
