backgroundImageName

From my understanding, after reading some documentation and testing other functionnalities related to localization of the installer, I thought that I should see the backgroundImageName key configurable in my custom_ files.

My goal is to display a different installer background images for different languages.

Any help would be appreciated.

I'm currently evaluating the latest InstallAnywhere version (2010 Enterprise SP1).

Hi,

Did you get some answer for this issue, I would like the same behavior regarding localization of the background image.

I tried setting:

# Installer.437f9e76afd9.backgroundImagePath=$IA_PROJECT_DIR$\\resources
Installer.437f9e76afd9.backgroundImagePath=$IA_PROJECT_DIR$\\resources

# Installer.437f9e76afd9.backgroundImageName=background_default.png
Installer.437f9e76afd9.backgroundImageName=background_localized.png

But not working ....

I got reply from support telling that background image cannot be localized.

No workaround exists for this.

I may have find a workaround that is suitable for me but may not be for every one.

In the InstallAnywhere UI, you can override part of the left pane by another picture taken from "Installer UI/Installer Steps". There you can use an image as background behind list of installer step.
As this image is localized, it can cover a part of the background image.

I did not yet tried it but it looks ok at least for me.
