UNIX: Problem with uninstall binary name for foreign languages

We ran into the problem with name of uninstall binary on UNIX for foreign languages in our old product made on IA8.
For example, if the name of uninstall binary assembled from words "Uninstall_" and STRING_VARIABLE with underscores instead of the spaces, it works for the English language only.
For foreign languages (Japanese, Korean) the words "Uninstall_" and STRING_VARIABLE are ignored and uninstall binary named by the PRODUCT_NAME with underscores instead of the spaces.
If PRODUCT_NAME is localized, the name of uninstall binary contains Japanese or Korean symbols and it is a problem.

Whether there is a solution or workaround for this problem?

IMHO, an obvious workaround would be to remove the variable that gets wrongly translated to underscores from the Uninstall name and have a simple Uninstall.exe instead that should work.
