System i (i5/OS) installer - How to obtain credentials
Hi,
I’m creating a System i (i5/OS) installer, where I’m struggling with the System I (i5/OS) user credentials.
I have added a “Get System i (i5/OS) Login Panel” in order to restore IFS files and invoke System i (i5/OS) commands, but I also need to invoke a custom action.
This custom action uses JTOpen/JT400 to do more specific System i (i5/OS) things, but right now it is not possible to obtain existing logon credentials from the “Get System i (i5/OS) Login Panel”. This results in two panels prompting for logon credentials. One for the installer and one for my custom action.
Is it somehow possible to obtain the username and password from the “Get System i (i5/OS) Login Panel” or being able to set them for the installer from a custom logon prompt?
Two logon screens in a row asking for the same user credentials, looks very unprofessional…

It should be mentioned that I have also tried to add the "Output Debug Information", but without success. The credentials isn't listed there..
Does anyone have any idea?
I really hope that someone is able to help me out here! 🙂
