Set Windows Registry availability in post-install

Hi.

I need to keep track of a counter in the windows registry. For this I wanted to use the Set Windows Registry - Single Entry action. But this action is not available in Post-Install phase general tab!

The option is available in Install and Pre-Install phases only. Is this a deviation? I mean, is it deliberately not made available in Post-Install? If yes, I am not able to make out any good reason, why it is so!

Or am I supposed to do anything for me to have the option available in Post-Install?

Note: My version of IA is InstallAnywhere 2008 Enterprise.

You can write custom code to perform operations in the registry post install, I do this currently to update some registry keys.

That is what I resorted to, finally. I did some research, but in vain. So I created a custom action and am writing my code into it!
