RPM registration

The user guide says " The RPM feature enables the installer to interact with and make entries into RPM database"

I enabled this feature and build the installer. After installation, shouldn't I get the name of my product in 'rpm -qa'?

Did you install it as root?

No, I didn't install as root. I'll do it now and check for it.
But if that is the case, then its of no use for me, as our product can be installed by an ordinary user also.
Yes, I know on Linux, RPM packages can be installed by root only.
But then how does 'Install RPM package' in Install tab works for ordinary(non-root) user?

I'm not sure for the installing RPM via IA, if it works when installing your software as a regular user, but I reckon it won't work, you'll probably have a warning in your installation log (and it does make sense, as you've admitted yourself, you must be root in order to be able to install RPM packages). Also, you must be root in order to be able to alter the RPM database, where IA writes information about the software "being installed like it was installed as an RPM".
