Product ID not accepting alphabets in InstallAnywhere 2008

Hi,

I am using InstallAnywhere 2008 VP1 version to create my installer. I find that the product ID do not accept Alphabets but only numbers. My product wants to be versioned say for example : A.01.00.

Could anyone help me in this regard?

AFAIK this is a limitation they have for quite a while now. I know there used to be a feature request asking for the removal of this limitation, but I couldn't find it. Also AFAIK there is no workaround for this issue.

I'm hunting for a solution to use alphabets in Product ID as well. It's a pity to know it is a limitation.
