MSI generation through InstallAnywhere
Hi There,
There's a requirement in one of our project for .MSI installer file creation. Our existing hybrid product installers are based out of Installanywhere 2008 enterprise edition.
Wanted to check whether there is any possibility to generate .msi file from existing installer(IA) source files? I have explored the net as well as your forum quite a bit but not been able to get any clear answer on this.
Does the latest version of IA i.e IA 2011 supports this feature?
Since our existing installer application is quite extensive and contains bunch of actions and classes, hence to replicate the same actions in another MSI based installer will require good amount of time and effort which we want to avoid.
Any suggestion/advice would be helpful on this.
Thanks
Sudeep

As far as I know, this is not possible, you need to use InstallShield if you want to produce MSI files. Maybe IS might have import IA project functionality, but in any case, you need it.
