Is there a way to not uninstall an Extracted Zip?
Is there a way to not uninstall an extracted zip? I need to be able to use the files extracted from the zip in the Pre-Uninstall, and then based on User input remove or not remove the files as part of the Uninstall.

In order to be able to access the contents of the .zip file in the Pre-Install Task I think you need this plugin: http://www.zerog.com/extensions/ExtractToFile.zip (as seen here: http://www.macrovision.com/downloads/downloads_7399.htm)

It looks like this Action is already provided, at least it's already in my IA 2008. I tried adding it, but I don't see how this going to help me with the Uninstall. I was hoping this action would have a check box like Add File to "not uninstall".

Thanks for the suggestion, I checked it out... An issue for me with using this approach would be how to remove the files if the User decides to delete the files. The only option that I see to remove the files is using the Delete Folder action. My concern is that there could be files in this location that were added by User after the install which we probably don't want to delete. Any suggestions???
