Install hangs after evaluation notice on linux
Hi --
I am currently evaluating IA2010 and encountered the following problem:
The install process hangs when I click the OK button on the evaluation notifier message (right after the language select splash screen). Fortunately the installer works when i close the message box by clicking the close-button on the title bar.
I am using Ubuntu 10.10 on an i386 machine as a test environment.
is it a bug or am I doing sth wrong?

Hi CarstenL,
Can you please provide us more details
1.Is the installer Bundled with VM compatible for linux or without VM ?
2.Is the target Machine i.e Ubuntu 10.10 with i386 has Java installed in it or is the current installation dependent on the java which is provided as a part of Ubuntu operating system.
Thanks,
Madhav Pai

Hello,
Thank you for this bug registration as this saved my time. I'm getting in to the same situation and didn't have any idea what's the problem.
Builder: InstallAnywhere 2011 SP1
OpenSUSE 11.4 64bit,
java version "1.6.0_22" OpenJDK Runtime Environment
Target:
Ubuntu 11.04 32bit
java version "1.6.0_22" OpenJDK Runtime Environment
I tried both type of installers with bundled JVM (Sun JRE 1.6.0_26) and without JVM. Same results.
Best Regards

I'm seeing the same thing on Ubuntu 10 with the Open JDK.

I was getting the same behavior on RedHat Enterprise 6.1 x64. The installer would hang after I clicked ok to the Trial Version notice. I am using the 2011 SP3 trial version of InstallAnywhere.
Once I bundled the Sun JRE 1.6.0_20 Linux INTEL vm with the Linux installer, the behavior went away and was able to continue.
