Disk space check in Pre-install for Solaris and Linux

I'm using IA 2010 for Solaris and Linux. In pre-install section after selecting $USER_INSTALL_DIR$ I want to check available disk space,I tried with pre-defined variable($FREE_DISK_SPACE_BYTES$) in IA but i'm getting 0 as result.

Is any other option to check free disk space in InstallAnyWhere?

Figured it out, it is only available in the install phase ... which does not help much 😞
