Difference between SunOS and Solaris in platform rule?

Hi,

I was wondering what is the difference between Solaris and SunOS in platform rule?

Is that IA SunOS equivalent of InstallShield Solaris on SPARC and
IA Solaris equivalent of IS Solaris on x86?

Or are they full synonym?

Or something else?

The platform rules match only names (so as far as the installer is concerned, it doesn't look at the underlying architecture); anyway, in order to be sure that your installer works on any SunOS/Solaris, you would need to include both denominations in a platform check rule.
