Component Key file - is it necessary?
I'm relatively new to InstallAnywhere, and want to better understand the "Key File" setting for Components.
I looked through IA Helpnet, but could not find a place where Key Files were explained. If anyone has a link to useful docs, please let me know.
1) Is the Key File mandatory? If the Key File is not set for component, could there be bad consequences during install or uninstall?
2) What is the Key File used for?
3) What file should the Key File generally be set to? When I click "Choose Key File", there are no real files there that would be logical choice for my component. Part of the problem could be that I'm using DIMs (through IA Collaboration) for my files, so I'm not adding files directly to the IA project.
Thanks.
