How to distinguish in between different HASP dongle hardware?

Question:

How to distinguish in between different HASP dongle hardware?

Answer:

Unfortunately, there is no official way to distinguish in between the HASP4 and HASP-HL (new ones) dongle driver. But, we can do this as:

- The hardware of length around half of the index finger is the old hardware i.e. HASP4.
- The hardware of length for the full size of index finger is the later one i.e. HASP-HL.

We can also distinguish in between them through the "Sentinel Admin Control Page". Post installing the Safenet dongle driver, attach the hardware to physical system and navigate to URL "localhost:1947".

At this particular URL, on left hand side under "Options" column, select the first option i.e. "Sentinel Keys". We shall see the details on our hardware listed there along with type. Kindly be advised that older version of hardware (i.e. HASP4) is not detected under this option, but the later versions (i.e. HASP-HL) and the driverless dongle is detected and their details are published.
