Flexnet 11.19

Iam trying to upgrade from LMTOOLS 11,12 to 11,19 but I get the following error:

--------
Status
--------
Flexible License Manager status on Wed 3/8/2023 13:33

[Detecting lmgrd processes...]
License server status: 27000@lisens-sn
License file(s) on lisens-sn: C:\FlexLM\license.lic:

lisens-sn: license server UP (MASTER) v11.19.0

Vendor daemon status (on lisens-sn):

mackichn: No socket connection to license server manager.
License path: 27000@lisens-sn;
FlexNet Licensing error:-7,10015

The deamon is in the correct folder

It worked fine on a version 11.12 .

 Any tips?.

Hi @bst112  ,

This error could occur due to multiple reasons like stated below

1. If the compatibility matrix is not maintained

2. Another possibility is that another application could be using the same port; for example, if MS Exchange is running on the same server, and the machine has been rebooted the service mad.exe) could be listening on port 27000. In this case changing the license server to a different port will resolve the issue.

3. Specify a port for Vendor daemon as well which is different from lmgrd port .

The server only run the licensing software.

I get this error now:

mackichn: Cannot read data from license server system.
The license server system appears to be running, but is not
responding. If this persists, notify the System Administrator.
(The license server manager (lmgrd) and vendor daemon processes
should be terminated and restarted.)

Hi @bst112 ,

The error -16, 287 can occur when the Vendor Daemon is unable to talk to the lmgrd and represents that functionality is timed out while waiting for the descriptor to be ready for read.

This can also be caused by using ports in the license file that are already in use.

Make sure both lmgrd and vendor daemon have ports specified in the license file

For example:

SERVER this_host ANY 27005
VENDOR flexera PORT=27010
USE_SERVER
FEATURE...

Where 27005 in the license server port and 27010 is the vendor daemon port.

Change the port numbers in the license file and restart the license server.

Still not working, get these errors:

The license server system appears to be running, but is not
responding. If this persists, notify the System Administrator.
(The license server manager (lmgrd) and vendor daemon processes
should be terminated and restarted.)
